Q: How did Rhonda Vincent end up singing with you on Lead Me Home?

A: It was a blessing to get Rhonda on this project. First of all she is a legend and the Queen of Bluegrass music so I was super excited. It actually came together by two interconnecting pieces. First, the original contact came through LeeAnn Lallone who was the late Grand Ole Opry star Jack Greene's manager. We were sitting in the living room at Jack's home in Mt. Juliet when she said she could call Rhonda. I wanted Rhonda because her sponsor Martha White also sponsored Flatt and Scruggs. It is well documented that Lester is a cousin of mine and I wanted a connection to him on the record. So after LeeAnn called Rhonda and I was able to talk to her she agreed to listen. The second act of fate was that my producer Rich Herring, a member of the Little River Band, had a relationship with Rhonda's studio engineer Joey Crawford. So we ended up recording her part of the song at her house. She was very humble and welcoming. It was a wonderful day and the song has found an audience in Inspirational Country Music.
