“Temporal Infinity....OMG! I have been listening to these AMAZING sounds for over an hour! I feel revived, rejuvenated, relaxed ~ hell, I almost feel HUMAN after the ravages of the day, after listening to your lilting notes, my dear! Be gone with the bubble bath... take the candles away and who needs wine when there is this magnificent music to listen to? You, Sir, are a maestro, par excellence! :) Just magnificent! Makes me feel light, loved, enveloped in care and warmth ~ almost as though the Universe put its arms around me and held me close... like my guardian angel wrapped me comfortably in his/her wings, and gently carried my burdens off into the still night, making me feather-light so that I might drift off to my special, safe place. Thank you Mark Barnes, for this amazing gift! :)”

“Composer Mark Barnes, who wrote the music for Port St. Lucie’s popular 50th anniversary docudrama movie, "City of Dreams," was awarded Best Easy Listening Male Artist at the 1st Annual Indie Music Channel Awards in Hollywood on Sunday, April 29. Barnes won the award for writing the movie’s theme song, “A City Within a Dream,” and for “Gabby’s Song,” a tribute to Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who has been recovering from a gunshot wound since January 2011. ”

“MUSIC TO THEIR EARS: Musician, composer and producer Mark Barnes of Port St. Lucie was doubly honored during the Nov. 10 Los Angeles Music Awards ceremony in Hollywood, Calif.”

“For the second consecutive year, Port St. Lucie resident Mark Barnes was named "Composer of the Year" at the Los Angeles Music Awards in Hollywood, Calif. This year, he has his hometown to thank. Barnes' work on "City of Dreams," a docudrama of the life, times and people of Port St. Lucie, resulted in his being recognized for his talents and garnered the "Soundtrack of the Year" award. Both awards were announced at a ceremony on Nov. 10. Barnes called the recognition "a major honor" and said having the opportunity to work on a project connected with the city he calls home was particularly meaningful.”

“The Awakening & Temporal Infinity each has their own melodic perspectives while giving a perfect illustration of this artist’s style and diversity. When listening to both albums back to back the two interconnected aspects of his classic based melodies with expert synthesizer complements made me appreciate the fact I was listening to not only a multi-award winning composer and producer, but a seasoned music professional.”

“PORT ST. LUCIE — "City of Dreams," the docudrama recounting Port St. Lucie's first 50 years, won Best Documentary Film at the 4th Annual Treasure Coast International Film Festival on Saturday. The movie's theme, "City Within a Dream," won Best Theme Song, competing against music from four other movies. Port St. Lucie residents created the song: Mark Barnes composed the music, Robert Navarro did the arrangement and Alana Ferraro sang, with backup vocals from her church's children's choir at Holy Family Catholic Church. Carol Conners of Hollywood, Calif., wrote the lyrics. The film won against two other documentaries. It premiered Wednesday night to a packed crowd of city dignitaries, eager city residents and film festival-goers at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center.”

“PORT ST. LUCIE — It's been a guarded secret in Port St. Lucie for more than a year now, but on April 27, residents will have their chance to watch the star-studded production of the city's 50th anniversary theme song and music video. "City Within A Dream" will premiere during the end credits of a 90-minute documentary drama titled "City of Dreams," which chronicles the city's young history. The song was created by a Grammy award-winning arranger, a Grammy and Academy award-nominated songwriter — who co-wrote the theme song for the movie "Rocky" — and an award-winning composer. One of the music video partners included composer Mark Barnes, a 24-year resident of the city, who wrote the song's melody in a half hour after only watching snippets of the documentary. "The music has a light and airy feel that represents the hope and growth the city has seen," Barnes, 49, said. "I felt like we had a hit on our hands."”
