"The Gaea Star Goddess Show, a unique musical event, will hold a benefit for Greening Greenfield Energy Committee on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Arts Block. The show, directed and created by singer-songwriter Mariam Massaro, is a colorful musical celebration of the Divine Feminine. Of particular note are the handmade costumes that are used in each concert. The music reveres Gaea, her natural elements and the beauty inherent in life, while expressing creativity, healing, global peace and gratitude. Mariam and the Gaea Star Goddesses have played at outdoor festivals and celebrations at the Academy of Music in Northampton, the Luthier's Co-op in Easthampton and at the first annual VegFest at the Hartford Convention Center. Audience involvement is a large part of the appeal. Audiences are unusually colorful and often attired as the goddesses and mythical, mystical figures that are featured so prominently in Massaro's music.

“Already the red marquis lights of Northampton's Academy of Music are announcing a concert by Worthington resident Mariam Massaro to launch her new CD, "Gaea Star Goddesses," which she says brings to life the goddesses that have inspired her. Massaro, 57, wrote the CD's 16 original songs last winter. Tall with long dark hair, on stage, she dons a blonde wig and a green, beaded dress. Robert Sherwood of Worthington is the music director and CD producer. The show, featuring goddess stilt dancers, begins with a 15-minute preview of their upcoming movie, "Gaea Star Crystal," filmed in March at the temples of Damanhur in the Alps of northern Italy. One of the film's six stars, Massaro said the trip inspired her to be even more creative. She returned to take up the ukulele and piano, which she had never played before, and to improve her guitar playing. "I want to bring forth the abundance of the goddess," she said, "and have fun celebrating something authentic". ”

“American Troupe Invites The Damanhurians To Participate In Their Film. If you see these strangely attired individuals, do not be worried. They are not from Venus, but are a group of American friends who have chosen Damanhur as a location to shoot a film. Theirs is an interesting story that begins about ten years ago when American musician and singer/songwriter Mariam Massaro held a concert at her small farm in Western Massachusetts which resulted in the production of her CD, “Rainbow Crystals Of The Earth”. Mariam and her colleagues have been seeking an adequate location to continue filming that could represent a sort of paradise. After seeing the Temple of Damanhur they have decided to come here to film. ”
