Magdalene / Press

"Needless to say I wasn’t expecting much when I was asked to review Magdalene’s full-length release “Forsaken”. Well I don’t know how they did it, but they made an album I enjoyed. Actually I know how they did it. They have incredible song writing, incredible hooks and vocals with range that can make a mediocre song into something incredible. Stevie's vocals bring me back to the days of Lacuna Coil’s “In a Reverie”; this was a CD that just felt amazing when you listened to it. It didn’t have the production quality that their new albums have but the passion and love behind the music was there to pull it all together. That is the similar feeling I got when listening to “Forsaken”. Not only that, but the music feels powerful, with its rough guitar riffs in songs like “End of Light”, “Addicted” and “Leave”.

“In my business, I hear, see, and work with many, many bands both established and up-and-coming. Some are good, and some are better. But there are also select few that just plain blow me away! One such band is "Magdalene", hailing from Tyler, Texas. This band ROCKS!”
