Bands in Order Of Appearance: Lund Bros Empire Of Sleep Kladruby Gold
International Pop Overthrow Seattle
Please join us as we do what we can to help the Erwin family. Lund Bros play benefit for children of slain local teacher Brothers Chris and Sean Lund, along with bassist (and brother from another mother) Gwon Chang, have organized a benefit for the children of slain local elementary school teacher, Amy Erwin. Lund Bros will play the benefit show on Friday, June 17th at The New Frontier Lounge in Tacoma. Two other local bands, The Tripwires (Seattle) and The Hard Way (Olympia) have also agreed to perform and donate all their earnings. Amy’s son (11) and daughter (9) are going to face enormous emotional and financial strains. Sean Lund, a friend of Erwin’s, organized the fundraiser in hopes of doing something positive for Amy’s children. Lund states that the bands are “going to try to raise as much money as possible. It will only be a drop in the bucket in terms of what the kids are going to need, but anything will help.” Lund Bros is a trio from Tacoma that specializes in melodic hard rock a la Cheap Trick, The Posies, and Weezer. Brothers Chris (guitar) and Sean (drums) share lead vocal and songwriting duties while Gwon Chang sings backup and plays bass. The band is currently crafting the follow-up to their 2008 album, Songbook IV. The band has been together in its current incarnation since 2005 and has another album to its credit, Tangents. Both albums can be found on iTunes. Sean Lund emphasizes that the spirit of the benefit show will be like that of Amy Erwin herself; uplifting and positive. “This is a rock-and-roll show and we’re going to have some fun. Amy was a gifted singer who would often break into song for the sheer joy of it. She was known to her friends and family as someone who loved life and music and the benefit will reflect that. I’d like to think she would’ve enjoyed being there.” All money raised in association with the benefit will go to a memorial fund at the Washington State Employee’s Credit Union (WSECU) established for Amy’s children. At the request of the family and out of respect for the children’s privacy, their names will remain anonymous for the purposes of this benefit. http://www.lundbros.com Lund Bros on Facebook
