“When four friends all the way from Belarus (near Russia!) found their way to San Francisco and rapidly found themselves one of the city's buzziest indie acts around, that's a pretty good story -- and one that the members of KiWi TIME can happily claim. Now, they are continuing their wave of critical and fan-approved acclaim: The band released its debut EP, "It's...KiWi TIME" earlier in the year, and are about to release a new single featuring none other than the legendary Sir Mix-A-Lot! That very track, titled "If I Can" can be heard first here on Yahoo Music. You can get full effect of the MC laying it down in classic fashion. Enjoy! If you'd like to catch KiWi TIME live, you can keep up with their schedule at kiwitimeband.com”

“I am often surprised by the direction culture takes. For instance, I never would have predicted that – after one quick single repurposing his classic “Baby Got Back” – Sir Mix A Lot would be experiencing a career resurgence. Following the success of the truly abysmal hit “Anaconda,” Sir Mix A Lot is riding the momentum with the superior, funkier “If I Can,” a collaboration with the San Francisco-based indie pop group KiWi TIME. The riff on “If I Can” is itself a throwback – the song blends an 80s sensibility with Sir Mix A Lot’s own brand of nostalgia for simple, driven hip-hop. This is truly the sound an artist like Sir Mix A Lot should be cultivating with his newfound relevance in 2014. To their credit, KiWi TIME prove themselves to be savvy musicians with a good ear for catchy pop synth. Think “Radioactive” meets “Get Lucky.””

“Anna from Kiwi Time dressed as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North from the Movie 'The Wizard of Oz,' performs by the Rose Garden of the White House before President Barack Obama greeted costumed children during Halloween festivities at the White House in Washington. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama welcomed local children and children of military families to 'trick-or-treat' at the White House for Halloween”
