“Shut Off Your Mind” is an eclectic mixture of all the best modern Alternative Pop Rock, this eccentric Singer-Songwriter has to offer. . Of particular note are the smooth, soothing vocals provided by Jupiter himself. His voice is somewhat artistically beautiful while retaining a masculine fullness that compliments the skillful array of guitar chops and sounds that compliment the rest of the music."”

"Coming on like furious gangbusters, rock singer/songwriter Jupiter In Velvet hits it straight out of the ballpark with his remarkably upbeat, exciting, and energetic sophomore album. Jupiter’s passionate vocals soar to the heavens and beyond with rip-roaring gusto while his songwriting displays a winning knack for tasty hooks and catchy dynamic melodies. The lyrics cut to the chase with refreshing clarity. However, it’s the insanely thrilling nonstop whirlwind of delicious jangly guitar riffs, ceaseless hacksaw basslines, and constant hard-charging drums that in turn makes this music so damn rousing and enjoyable; the whole thing registers strongly as one delightfully dynamic ball of pure punky pop-rock pow. A terrifically lively romp."

"The second album by Jupiter in Velvet is an even brighter and more artistically cohesive effort than its consistently engaging debut, Screaming the Love Behind the Scars. Self-deprecation swerves into self-adoration with side routes into androgyny, erotic desire, Anglophilia and peacock-strutting fabulousness. Like a savvier Sha Na Na for post-Beatles Great Britain, Velvet distills a sonic fantasia of an imaginary time when pre-Young Americans David Bowie, Duran Duran, Adam Ant, Visage and T. Rex all shared the same Sunday afternoon BBC Radio One top 40. With nigh addictively sugary melodies and beats most danceable, Jupiter in Velvet makes glamorous pop at least as inclusive and scads more fun than Lady Gaga’s archer iterations to similar effect. Jupiter’s worth a trip."

"This latest release by Canadian artist (Quebec) Jupiter In Velvet. Jupiter In Velvet is one artist that cannot be underscored or conveniently pigeonholed. Jupiter In Velvet who is a one man operation (except live) invites the listener to sift through a multitude of punk rock sounds, all of which congeal in a tangible yet gorgeous selection of songs. It’s all kicked off by the tasty title track which if you think about it is the perfect intro piece to repent from. There’s somewhat of an upbeat, hopeful tone and mood here when one is introduced to Jupiter In Velvet’s sonic voice for the first time via this track. His voice is well suited for this psychedelic rock catalogue..."

"UK Rock act Jupiter In Velvet’s new CD, Shut Off Your Mind is a carefully crafted collection of songs showcasing Electro-Punk Rock artisanship at its best, creating a punk based foundation for memorable and hooky songs."

"The result is both heavy and beautiful; rock and roll, re-imagined, and reinvigorated. On this you’ll hear Jupiter In Velvet’s impressive writing and singing that lets it all hang out. He’s a very impressive talent, and also grants one rare access to peer into the tormented soul of a quintessential artist – from his dynamic perspective. He is a marquee talent from North of the border. One cannot help but admire artists with strong songwriting skills and truthful conviction all the while demonstrating a strong a level of creativity."

"Shut Off Your Mind” is a great album and is not far from groundbreaking for Jupiter In Velvet. It has some real magical moments on it but mostly it’s a good time, rock n’ roll package. It might actually be the start of something special for Jupiter In Velvet in 2013. People who like their music upbeat, rocking, with a slice of punk and old time rock from an ocean away will like this simplistic staple. I look at Jupiter In Velvet and I see a modern day version of David Bowie or even Paul McCartney. When it comes right down to it Jupiter In Velvet should please a pretty wide swath of listeners."

"Over the years JIV has honed his craft into one unique sound that’s instantly identifiable by audiences worldwide. It has also created a well rounded and versed musician. Under the alias of Jupiter in Velvet moniker this is one artist that audiences would benefit to experience live as well. I believe there’s a detached and disgruntled audience just waiting for him to arrive."

"Jupiter In Velvet displays a masterful mix of all genres, but his voice and amazing songwriter’s touch are the highlight of it all. Enter in the impressive vocal work meshed with the clever lyrics you have the perfect setting for an amazing album. 'Shut Off Your Mind' is sure to make a positive impact on all who listen."

“In close Screaming the Love Behind the Stars by "Jupiter In Velvet" is a consistent musical production from start to finish. It’s strong suit – its polished rock feel, hooky grooves and amazing songs. If Jupiter In Velvet have a slam dunk live presentation that would be a very deadly combination no doubt. Beware this CD packs a consistent yet powerful punch dishing out one solid song after the next like a 1-2 punch. The songs are extremely melodic, passionate and powerful – and will no doubt get your adrenalin pumping, and your heart beating.”

“The lead singer's voice sound alot like David Bowie.. Screaming The Love Behind The Scars is good CD. They claim their music for the new millennium, it is an energy of two worlds, creating music for one time... I certainly would not go that far but I do think the band are all fine musicians ..10 tracks that are all strong! Check them out”

“Most would agree most popular artists out there have something truly special to give to their fans. This goes above the typical attributes like raw talent, amazing songs, nice voice, or even a very marketable look, sound and image. There's something truly infectious at the core of these artists that simply makes us feel good when we listen to them. Whatever "it" is - they all seem to have "it". Today I listened to the latest CD from Montreal based artist Jupiter In Velvet who just released his latest CD entitled: Screaming the Love Behind the Stars. I see Jupiter in Velvet as a diamond in the rough, with an amazing amount of potential. As time goes by we will no doubt hear more from him. Though I don’t know his real name I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on my Radar screen as 2013 unfolds. In close most famous artists out there have "it" I'm not so sure what "it" is but Jupiter In Velvet has whatever "it" is.”

“This is an artist that brings to the table effective songwriting via a highly marketable musical delivery. This meshed with a one in a million Punk Pop Rock sound and effective visuals and vocals makes for a very effective combination no doubt. Jupiter in Velvet is just a breath away from Modern Pop or even Light Punk but skillfully and methodically never crosses the line into those realms. All songs are impressive snapshots - wonderfully simple but masterful in their overall arrangements. I can also hear a slight old school psychedelic UK Punk-esque touch to the music as well, like Iggy Pop, Rolling Stones and Roxy Music. . I must admit Screaming the Love Behind the Stars sucked me in like a powerful drug and refused to let go long after the music was over. This usually indicates he is something special about the artist or band in question.”

“So what do bands like MPOX, Blink 182, and The Killers got that Jupiter In Velvet doesn’t? Not much if you ask me save the multi million dollars promotional machines and major record label support. Jupiter In Velvet breaks the mold with his highly creative touch and catchy grooves that in their final impression: deliver invigorating music with its deep seeded UK punk rock roots. Jupiter In Velvet is a very passionate and creative artist, and the production value of Screaming the Love Behind the Stars is off the charts for an Independent Artist. Musical overtones that will remind you of acts from The Kills, Foxboro Hot Tubs, Arcade Fire, Blink-182 and even Decemberists. He also reminds me of a cross between Chris Ballew (President of the United States of America) and the Black Keys. Right now after hearing Jupiter In Velvet’s music and checking out his site I can honestly say this he what’s been missing from the radio lately.”

“I recently checked out the latest CD from London based Singer/Songwriter Jupiter in Velvet who just released his latest effort Screaming the Love Behind the Stars in 2012. The band members include: Jupiter himself. He's a one man band very much like a Beck or a Phil Collins. The playing abilities of Velvet are pretty solid across the board. I would say advanced to elite songwriting skills. Very simple yet effective, conservative, highly original, and passionate. It strikes the perfect balance between alternative rock and just a dash of 70's retro Punk-Pop. Velvet is clearly being himself as a songwriters and performer and this is what emerges. It's clear to me they he is having fun with this. Fans of carefree Alternative-College Rock with a dash of 70's retro-Punk will love Jupiter In Velvet for everything he is.”

“Screaming the Love Behind the Stars” is his latest release and the result though far from a self-indulgent ego trip, is rather a moving and elegiac artistic statement from start to finish. This is not your overly predictable Ramon Noodle Pop Rock band, no Jupiter In Velvet goes much deeper than that. In-fact Jupiter In Velvet could even be classed as a 4 genera artist: Alternative Rock, Pop, vintage Punk and even Classic Rock. No doubt Jupiter In Velvet has carved a marketable niche for himself thus far setting himself up for more marketable success down the road – locally and beyond. But for now I can honestly say this is one English artist that clearly gives you a musical snapshot that is highly original, uplifting and dare I say brilliantly stylish in scope.”

“Screaming the Love Behind the Stars” appeals to both advanced and novice listeners alike. Whatever kind of listening level you’re on – some will identify with things while others will not. Like a three layered cake Jupiter In Velvet is one artist that has a lot of depth and has so much to offer. Whether it’s musically, lyrically, inspirationally, emotionally, spiritually – if you feel like music is taking us in the wrong direction than rest assured Jupiter In Velvet is taking us back in the right direction.”

“So across my desk slides the new CD by UK based Jupiter In Velvet entitled “Screaming the Love From Behind the Stars” released in 2012. What I heard put a smile on my face. It’s a nice easy flowing record that delivers solid songwriting with an amazing voice. Finally an artists that get’s it. Jupiter In Velvet reminds me of an English version of Weezer with a Punk Rock chaser. It definitely raises the bar over some of the Pop artists wave been hearing as of late. You will also hear a nice side of ole’ school Sex Pistols in there but with a more refined jagged edge. If you like the above bands you should definitely check out “Screaming the Love From Behind the Stars.””

“Who can forget the greatest Rock n Roll party of all time? Bands like The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin dominated the airwaves. So amazing was this generation and its contribution to pop culture it still has its stamp on music today. Bands like Muse, Kasabain, The Killers and even Kaiser Chiefs bring a psychedelic aftertaste to their blend of Rock. There is a new yet mysterious artist from London that is cut from the cloth as some of the aforementioned bands, but with a more modern feel. This artist goes by the name of Jupiter In Velvet. His latest CD delivers an alternative-rock sound that will remind you of Muse, Kasabain, The Killers, and the Kaiser Chiefs. Final Word: . I would imagine in time we will hear more from this rather mysterious artist as 2013 unfolds. Time will tell but I can honestly say this is one artist set up for success down the road with his marketable appeal and fresh sound that gives modern music a well needed shot in the arm.”
