“Every once in awhile an album comes out of the woodwork and totally grabs me, and J.R. Shore has grabbed me with an iron grip. I must have played Shore’s brilliant debut disc half a dozen times since it came into my possession, and it keeps getting better.”

"It doesn't get any better than this folks! Alberta's best roots musicians playing some of the all time greatest songs. It's as if the Front Porch boys really have channeled The Band!" Allison Brock/Wide Cut Country/CKUA There are few if any songbooks as dense, compelling, and timeless as that created by Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel and Garth Hudson. Songs like "Stage Fright", "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", "The Weight", "Tears of Rage", "Lookout Cleveland", "Whispering Pines", "The Shape I'm In" and "Ophelia" have resonated with audiences since the days they were first released. Last year, long time members of the Front Porch Roots Revue, Ron Rault, Crawdad Cantera, Thom Moon and Doug Andrew, got together with friends Ron Casat, J.R. Shore and ex- K.D. Lang/Ian Tyson guitarist Gord Matthews and rolled out over two dozen tunes associated with a multitude of chapters from The Band catalogue. This year Up On Cripple Creek will weave in a dozen tunes not heard in the first volley and the boys in the band are as up for the challenge, as audiences are in their collective anticipation of this tribute to one of the great groups of all-time.
