Three singer/songwriters performing a rotating set in a living room atmosphere, at Dragonfly Music & Coffee Cafe, the most talked about intimate music venue in NJ.
New Music Showcase at Roxy & Dukes Roadhouse: Pay once at the door and the first 20 guests receive a goodie bag filled with new music and gifts from the performers: Jenny Cat - Singer/songwriter Jenny Cat is not only the frontwoman for Jenny & The Felines but manages to carry the flag for female rockers all on her own as a solo artist as well. David Aaron Greenberg - NYC poet, painter and songwriter David Greenberg is one half of the production/songwriting duo known as Disco Pusher. He is the former frontman for Penpal, with whom he toured the nation with popular alternative acts and contributed songs to the soundtrack of the movie Saved!, starring Jena Malone and Macauley Culkin. Fias Banks is the newest brainchild of the ingenue Andy Prasa. Not even graduated from Berklee School Of Music yet, Prasa has already issued releases under his own name as well as the combo For The Plane. He will be joined by his father, songwriter Peter Prasa, known throughout NJ as not only a premiere piano tuner and luthier but as an open mic night host and original music curator. Mr. Payday is the sole act on this bill invited to perform based solely on hearing a handful of tracks. All of the acts were handpicked by headliner John Wilkey but Mr. Payday came at the recommendation of another veteran performer and fit the bill perfectly with their pop-leaning alternative rock sound. Glenn Garr has always looked and sounded like a throwback to any seminal early Eighties New Wave act but he has always played and formed bands that play with a rage and fury for the present time. He recorded his best album to date, Millionaires, with his latest band The Last Chances. They will be performing songs from that record at the show., John Wilkey is the organizer of the show as well as the headliner. The idea of a lineup of performers with free releases instead of a traditional release party was his. It doesn't hurt that he has also managed to produce some good old fashioned CDs of his album, The Heart Stays On The Sleeve, which has been available digitally for the last year. Rather than perform with a band, Wilkey relies on the talent of good friends who grace him with their talent and bring his songs to life. Oh, and it's his birthday. And the Winter Solstice.
