Jazz Williams / Press

“Local. Mother. Inspiring Vocalist. Composer. Radio host. As host of Feminization which airs Mon 6-8pm on 100.3’s SOUNDFM, Williams is now heading a new label for women, some of which will be featured at this months PWYWO Friday showcase at Little Bean. In an email interview I asked how she juggles everything. “I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and I ask for help when needed,” she responds easily. “I fully understand no man is an island so I have decided to ask other strong women to assist in making my radio show and label a success. There's power in numbers and like I always say, "this music industry is a numbers game", as women we have the numbers and can make our own rules to the game.” With the show catapulting Williams front and centre of her own career and giving her the opportunity to put others forward, she’s now assisting other women in having their voices heard.”

“Every day I come across examples of "Extraordinary People" who dream bigger. I thought I’d share a few stories with you today. I was interviewed on CKWR FM Just before me, there was an inspiring local singer, Jazz Williams who has had made a name for herself. Her latest endeavour caught my attention. Jazz started W.U.O.F Records, a record label based in KW. Her dream is to encourage Women in Business to support Women in Music a “pay it forward” concept never done before to give female artists the opportunity to be a success in the music industry. We listened to a song by a local teen signed by W.U.O.F. Jazz’ eyes lit up as she explained that this young girl had started writing songs at the age of 7, just as Jazz had. That was when I realized, this was a woman who knows how to dream bigger, not just for herself, but for her community. And who is willing to do what it takes to make their dreams a reality.”
