“A Trussville teenager Saturday performed with country music singer-songwriter Marty Stuart in Greeneville, Tenn. Jackson Capps, 13, sang “Farmer’s Blues” after Stuart called Capps up on stage eight songs into the concert. Capps played with Stuart’s guitar and got a standing ovation. “He didn’t even seem nervous,” said Capps’ mother, Tonya Capps, a Trussville City Schools English teacher. Stuart didn’t call Capps up to the stage by chance. The Trussville teen met Stuart in May 2012 at Manuel in Nashville and debuted on the Grand Ole Opry on July 20, 2012, accompanied by Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives. Tonya Capps said Stuart has “taken Jackson under his wing.” “Marty and Jackson have sent each other care packages and letters through the mail, and they have emailed each other,” she said. Saturday was the first time Capps saw Stuart in concert, though he “avidly” watches Stuart’s show on RFD-TV.”
