Ciderup and The Hanging Garden present PANDEMONIUM: A TYRANNY OF DARK SOUNDS. The Bay Area's premier dark music festival, celebrating the best of local post-punk, dark wave, dark new romantic and goth.
When Bauhaus came along, they changed everything for doomy rock music -- and they couldn't have done it without vocalist and "Godfather of goth" Peter Murphy. Let's not forget that this is the man from those iconic Maxell tape commercials! Murphy, whose evocative voice is still a soundtrack for young, dark-clad music fans, has a range like not many in the goth rock movement. From catchy, electronic tinged pop numbers to straight alt rock gloom, there's something for everyone in Peter's work; that shouldn't surprise you, he's been on the scene creating musical art for decades now. Whether you're an old school goth, or just want to see "The Cold One" from the Twilight movies (yep, that's Peter Murphy), you can't go wrong worshipping at the altar for his live show. For this tour, Murphy brings a stellar band, those prized cheekbones, and dark jams that span his career, you even be treated to a few Bauhaus numbers. Murphy picks up a 12-string or owns the mic like a crooner of olde, depending on the song. Get out your best 80s dance moves and be ready to drink up the darkness.
