Illumina A.D. / Press

“This band has created something exciting in a genre that is looking for new sounds and mash-ups to spark new interest in heavy metal....Whoever knew that death metal can sound so haunting yet so beautiful. I look forward to seeing them when they decide to come to Southern California. Until then, this album will get me ready for them. To Illumina, I salute you. Horns up!!! 10/10.”

“Every so often an album comes along that reminds us of why we love metal. For some it’s the heavy beats and ripping guitars. For me, it’s the anger and frustration that is expressed along with the beats and guitars. I feel this necessary for me to keep my calm in a world that is less than nice. For the past few years I’ve had a dry spell of albums that gave me that feeling when it comes to the underground scene. Enter ILLUMINA A.D.’s “Tapestry of Lies” EP. This release from the New Mexico natives, paint’s the perfect landscape for me to get all the negative out in a positive and healthy way. From it’s heart pounding drums, pain filled duets, and virtuosso quality guitars, this album encompasses every reason that I am That Metal Fan. It may not do the same for you but in any case this four track EP is worth every penny. If you love metal, you can’t pass this up. I would personally like to thank the band for this release. I know it wasn’t written for me, but it means ”

“Illumina seem to have all the talent that you look for in a band under one umbrella. Powerful screams, searing guitar solos, combined with a strong female vocalist & rhythm section. Nice to see all that talent motivated to do something with it. They demand attention.”

“Unfortunately in recent years, when people think of vampires, they picture pretty sparkling heartthrobs. For us metalheads though, we have a saving grace. ILLUMINA A.D.’s, “BLEED”, is one such example of this salvation. Their recently released video for the song brings back that eerie creature of the night feeling using ghost imagery and downright awesome music. With it’s sick guitar licks, bad ass drumming, and well crafted duets, this hardcore LACUNA COIL feeling band will have you begging for more. Personally, I feel the groovy bridge and almost METALLICA style guitar solo make the song. But that may just be the guitar player in me. In any case, this video and more importantly, the band itself, are not something you want to miss out on. Check this shit out!
