“To I Am Dogstar, thank you for your demo submission of Occupy. The Doctor couldn’t help but be intrigued by this submission, it’s not often we get an explicitly political track in the surgery, let alone one that works melodically too. The doctor could hear elements of a restrained Patti Smith in the vocal delivery, Mid 70’s Floyd (especially Roger Waters) in the tracks mood & lyrics and even a faint nod to Robert Fripp in the (lead) guitar playing (one of the doctors faves!), all adding up to a track that has atmosphere in spades. More than this though, it’s your ability to create a timeless quality within the track (it could have been released in the 70’s/80’s/90’s or now) that could be your greatest strength. The Doctor really enjoyed ‘Occupy’, being quite different from other songs that come into his surgery and it makes a nice change to receive a track that ‘means’ something.”
