Singer/guitarist/songwriter Heath Lane prides himself as one of the few artists in his neck of the woods actually concentrating on writing truly original material, while most of his contemporaries are content complacently skirting by in the covers circuit. With a musical style that blends rootsy Americana a la Tom Petty with classic blues-based rock-n-roll reminiscent of the Stones or AC/DC and the intensity of punk and new wave harkening back to Social Distortion and the Replacements, the Upstate South Carolina veteran finally caved to peer pressure and embarked on a new side career as a solo artist. Always embracing the truest spirit of rock by being unafraid of speaking his mind at the risk of going against the grain, Lane adheres to a lyrical method that is often both clever and cynical, and has been known to strike a nerve or two with subject matter. Brutal honesty coupled with irresistible hooks and melodies are a recipe that he executes unlike any other, and his goal is to have at least one song stuck in your head after visiting his page or seeing a live performance!
Fun fact: Lane is also a regional "go-to" hired gun and can be seen on stages all over either in collaboration with other original artists or providing much-needed help with the occasional local cover-band. Currently Lane also performs lead guitar and vocal work live with Greenville area veteran outfit The Oath, and provides songwriting/arrangement and all instruments with Revelator.
