“Last is a new disc from Glen Robertson. Steel-trap minds will recall I mentioned him a couple of weeks ago as a former Rock Dog. Robertson has been quietly working away on his nine-tune disc, Well-Intentioned Fool, for at least a decade. On the scale of what gets produced around here, it’s near the top. Holy cow! I listened to this disc four times in a row, and just got done listening to it again here at home. It’s fantastic. There isn’t anything I’d change for the sake of improvement. The writing is impeccable; Robertson has a way with words and a unique way of creating images with them. The lyrics are powerful. Each tune has something original to say, but, for an example of how Robertson works the craft, listen to Back to You to understand how he thinks about the world. The production is worthy of the best discs you have in your collection by bands far, far away from here. Don’t buy it because I said you should. Buy it because you love good music.”
