“GiRL SPiT are from Doncaster and play gloriously enjoyable rocket-fuelled metal-infused punk rock with more energy than a crate of Red Bull and no small amount of Stooges rock'n'roll sleaze: on a regular stage it would be pretty invigorating but right here in our faces it's a whole level more intense, thanks largely to the antics of immaculately and bright pink coiffed singer Rob. He's off out all round the bar, sitting on any free stool and singing (with a wonderfully Rollins-like snarl) directly to the people sitting nearby; over to the window to serenade passers-by; cheekily pinching hats and pints like an inquisitive zoo monkey and rolling his eyes in mock innocence as his bandmates throw out thunderous basslines and power riffs. As the set ends he's off out the door, never to return. Brilliant.”
