A day of rock, roll and acoustic tomfoolery as a wide selection of Liverpool's finest purveyors of prime musical shenanigans get their milk teeth into the leafy suburbs of South Liverpool.. An all ages show with a whole lot of nonsense going on from midday to the end of licensing hours, this Bank Holiday Monday spectular is not to be missed!! Bands include The Cheap Thrills, The Hummingbirds, Sick Circus, Midnight Ride, Pocketbook Heroes, Kaya, Dapper Overture, Dan Elson and the Rhythm Pixies and thats just the start of it!! Expect an inter-band 5 a-side football tournament, bbq, stalls with things on them and lots of other palaver to make you feel special.
Snub Festival..... In the current climate of pay to play, pay to apply and voting systems for gig slots, The Masque is providing a non-judgemental outlet for local talent! For many bands to even stand a chance of making a festival appearance at a ticket price that even their mates can’t afford, it’s hard to get opportunities in a city awash with a wealth of talent. We believe if bands want to play a local festival, then they should have the chance to do so without getting their granny’s in Tipperary to make premium rate phone calls, or creating Facebook accounts for their 3 year old sisters to vote from. Let’s stop the fighting amongst the bands. Let’s unite and bring camaraderie to the arts scene instead of bands fighting amongst themselves for a mediocre slot not even their mothers can be bothered to get out of bed for. And let’s face it, if you wanted to take part in a voting system, you’d have auditioned for X-Factor. We want to show the world how talented and diverse Liverpool is musically. We want to showcase some of the best Indie, Pop, Pop-Punk, Rock, Emo, Rap and Metal acts in Merseyside. No tricks, no gimmicks, just great music. We also want to keep the cost as LOW as possible. We will only be asking for a £1 donation, and half of our door take will be split between our official charity partners: C.A.L.M. (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and Forum Housing Association (raising funds to support homeless young people on Merseyside). Bands will be selling merchandise on the day, so if you like a band, buy a cd or a t-shirt. We love happy, smiling band members!
We Are Competing in the Lowflying Records battle of the bands final!
