Celebrate national "Walk on the Wild Side" day throughout Downtown-Chinatown. "Walk on the Wild Side" is a National Kidney Foundation initiative drawing attention to the health benefits of walking. The Honolulu celebration blends healthy walking with an exploration of both old and new in the Arts District and Chinatown. A number of activities will be hosted throughout a seven-block area between Fort Street Mall and Kekaulike Mall.
Tickets $15 after 10PM
Award-winning pianist Shawn Livingston Moseley takes the stage with special guests slack key artist Stephen Inglis and vocalist Erika Elona. Also joining Moseley (but not all at the same time!) will be vocalists Erin Smith and Candy Diaz, Sing the Body, Hanale Bishop, Gabe of Dread Ashanti, and the museum's own Brandon Apeles on bass. Moseley is perhaps best known as the part of the roots reggae group Dread Ashanti. This will be his first solo performance in three years—the last time he did this he sold out three nights at Mamiya Theatre! Since then he has been busy producing and engineering albums for top island performers from Manu Boyd to Sabrina Velazquez. At this show, expect a full spectrum of music genres, from straightahead pop to traditional Hawaiian.
Celebrate the release of Soulsound Slack at Pakele Live at the Willows! Special Guests Bobby Moderow, Keale and Erika Elona!
