Calling all lovers of justice, humor, music and sass! Come swoon to the tunes of visiting Oakland-based modern-folk musician and activist Entirely Talia. https://www.facebook.com/EntirelyTalia In pre-school singer/songwriter Talia Cooper apparently wrote songs about cows, despite growing up in the non-farm areas of Oakland and Berkeley. These days Talia’s original songs weave together her family traditions of activism, humor and Jewish culture. Her voice has been most compared to her heroes Dar Williams, Joni Mitchell and Ani Difranco. Talia’s songs poke fun at cliches and expose realities. Talia rejects the notion that artists are “special” and instead speaks to the creative parts in all of us. Stephanie Atara is a New York City based folk singer/songwriter from Newton, MA. Her favorite pastimes include flirting with insanity and falling asleep in the wrong places. While traveling in the Middle East and Europe, meeting people with radically different lives than her own, Stephanie began taking her songwriting seriously as a means of exploring and understanding how people relate to reality and themselves. She had her first singing gig at 18 in a small bar in Jerusalem and is now studying Drama at NYU’s Tisch. Stephanie is interested in testing the lines between concert and musical theater and is just starting to gig around NYC. Check out Stephanie's music here: https://soundcloud.com/stephaniemusic
