Monday, October 26th 2015, Dawn suffered a massive stroke while driving home resulting in a car accident. Dawn was rushed to Theda Clark Hospital where she underwent a CT scan. The scan showed a massive stroke to the right side of her brain. Due to extremely fast swelling, she underwent lifesaving craniotomy surgery in which the neurologist removed sections of her skull and portions of the right side of her brain. The stroke has affected the entire left side of her body leaving her unable to move her left side. Dawn is currently residing in a rehabilitation facility and learning how to live life differently in a wheelchair. Due to the disabilities the stroke has caused, she is unable to return to work at Plexus and no longer able to volunteer as an emergency first responder. Although she will require care 24/7, we plan on getting her back home in April. However there are changes that need to be made in order to make her home wheelchair and handicap accessible. To assist with the high cost of home renovations and the medical bills that are piling up we are hosting a benefit to raise money. A benefit will take place May 21st at the Winchester Town Hall in Winchester, WI. We will play sometime between 4-8pm. Soon come!
