Benefit for Carla J. Lehrer at The Lehrer. Brad Lehrer's sister is battling the dreaded “BC”, breast cancer. At this time she has had surgery and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. We've assembled an all-star lineup of female artists to help gather us together in solidarity. If you’ve had the misfortune to have had a loved one go through something like this, you know the toll that it can cause mentally, physically and financially. So, we’re going to gather in support of her in a time of need. The lineup is as follows: 2:00 Lisa Mann & Sonny Hess 3:00 Ma Fondue featuring Nayibe Rojas 4:00 Ellen Whyte 5:00 Rae Gordon 6:00 Lucy Hammond 7:00 Tracey Fordice and the 8-Balls Not only is there going to be some great music, we're also going to have a silent auction, raffle, beach volleyball, and other fun activities. Ok, no beach volleyball, but other fun activities. If you or someone you know, has anything to donate for the auction or raffle (product or service) please contact the Lehrer. There'll be a suggested $10 donation for the event. If for some reason you cannot make the event, or live too far away to attend, you can still donate by sending your gift, via US postal service, to "The Lehrer" at 8775 SW Canyon Lane, Portland, Oregon, 97225. We will also be setting up a bank account for those of you that would rather donate a gift using transfer or deposit. In the meantime, get your calendar out , turn it to the month of March, and mark the 30th with a big pink "X".

The Pete Petersen Septet returns to Vie de Boheme to perform an evening of Big Band-inspired music for your enjoyment. The band's repertoire spans seven decades of jazz history, from the 1930s to the 2000s. The band's mission is to play jazz music that feels as good as it sounds and that swings so hard you can't help but move your feet! Featuring special guest vocalist Ellen Whyte. Join us for an evening of wine and song that will make you feel good to the core!! Vie de Boheme Wine Bar 1530 SE 7th - Portland, OR 8pm $10 Ellen Whyte is a long-time friend and collaborator of the band, including a memorable performance at our Main Stage appearance at the 2009 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival. Her approach to standards from the Songbook as well as her "heart-rockin" original songs prove that she is truly one of a kind. "She not only sings like an angel, but brings her own styling and phrasing to every song that is completely individual. Thank God for Ellen Whyte who is one of the last few who can sing blues and pop and jazz, and still stand up on a stage and sing Big Band standards with the best of them." - Grammy Award producer Dennis Walker Also performing with the Septet will be: Bryan Dickerson, Alto sax Paul Mazzio, Trumpet Ben Medler, Trombone Joe Millward, piano Ed Pierce, drums Andre St James, bass
