Dusty's musical influences include Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow and she has been called a female Neil Young!
Singer/songwriter, Dusty Recor, hails from the San Francisco Bay area of California. Her guitar player, Indian Joe is from Perth, New Brunswick, Canada at the narrows of the Tobique River. How these two met is a long and tangled story. Suffice to say their alignment began a musical dance that continues to evolve.
Dusty moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland as a child and grew up loving sailing and horses. Eventually she moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands and lived on a sailboat for ten years. Indian Joe got a guitar and a motorcycle and spent years criss-crossing the continent playing and teaching. The two met in the small town of Ramona in Southern California in 2004 when Dusty wanted to learn guitar.
Dusty and Indian Joe have written and produced six cds.
The August 2010 release of "What Did You Expect?" started The LoveNotes rolling like a locomotive out of the station gathering strength and momentum.
" Recor, who produced and arranged the album with collaborator/LoveNotes member Indian Joe, is clearly a skillful songwriter as well as a skillful vocalist. Recor wrote everything on this 2010 release"..AllMusic Review by Alex Henderson.
"Indian Joe played the lead guitar, bass, and some rhythm tracks, did back up vocals as well as helping Dusty with the production and arrangement of this CD...very, very talented guitar player, a great actor in the music video and a gifted instructor!" Gulf Coast Review by Bill Dwyer
Songs from their debut CD have been played on a cable TV station, FM radio and numerous podcasts, Dusty's had the pleasure of being interviewed by Carmen Milagro on Women & Legends Who Rock, and by Ryan Holmes of BlazinRy Radio!
