DruidSong / Press

“Well, nearly every day I search the new uploads for my favorite music styles which are: Christian/Gospel/Folk/Bluegrass/Celtic And I came across your song: Ballad of Rory Mcguiness and I really liked it. So I became a fan”

“Druidsong, a marvelous Celtic artist, has recorded my song "The Ballad of Rory McGuinness" which I wrote about 43 uears ago to be a song "by" my novel's Shannon O'Neill about an event that takes place in the course of the novel, An Involuntary King: A Tale of Anglo Saxon England - see right. The current lyrics are more recent, and the melody has been arranged by Druidsong for his own performance. The song will be on his upcoming album, due out sometime in June. I, of course, will gleefully play the track on my Celtic radio station, Radio Dé Danann”

“Among performers you’ll hear are Druidsong, aka Bruce Golightly. Druidsong has been performing since the 1960′s on 6 and 12 string guitar, bodhran (a Celtic hand drum), and tin whistle. He plays solo and also with the groups Twisted Knickers and Hiraeth. His music spans the range from pieces dating back to the 17th century or earlier, up to the 20th century, all reflecting the Celtic musical tradition, world view, and patterns. Bruce currently has 3 albums out: DruidSong, Johnny Jump Up, and Rebels and Rogues, which includes Nan Hawthorne’s Balld of Rory McGuinness. ”

“Celtic musician Druidsong has just released his single "Ballad of Rory McGuinness", the melody and lyrics of which were written by Nan Hawthorne and relate one of the plots taken from the novel.”
