“From California to Cable – Did you see the guy in ''Goodfellas'' who played the head waiter at the Copa Cabana -- the one who seated the gangsters? Or the guy who ran after a thief in ''Spider-Man 2?'' That was Doug Ferony, a Peekskill native who is also carving out a career as a singer of standards. He also writes songs and performed one of them, ''I'm in Love With a Girl,'' in a movie called ''Mr. Vincent.'' Mr. Ferony, 46, said he had spent ''the last few years regrouping'' after his wife died of a brain tumor in 1998. He is back in Peekskill after living in California, and is continuing with his music while rearing two children, ages 12 and 9, as a single dad. One of his ventures is a new half-hour variety show that can be seen Thursday nights at 7 on Cablevision Channels 15 and 98.
