Donny and the Dorsals / Press

“Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to McCormick Park in downtown Williamston on Thursday evening, August 15th to hear Donny and the Dorsals who will perform in the American Legion Bandshell. This is a fundraiser for the swim teams so come hungry! Items offered include hot dogs, drinks, popcorn and delicious baked goodies. You will also be able to buy tie dyed tee shirts hand made by the swim teams. The Summer Concert Series will feature the Sun, Fun, Sand and Surf Music band of Williamston’s hometown wonder “Donny” Warren owner of Six String Place with the group “Donny & the Dorsals”. “Donny and The Dorsals” formed in 2010 to bring the sounds of the 1960′s Surf bands like the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, the Ventures and others to contemporary audiences. The Dorsals not only do an extraordinary job of performing the classic music of the era, but bring a lively stage show that actively engages the audience. This event is generously sponsored by Betty Eigenauer.”

“It is hard to believe the summer is winding to an end and the Williamston Summer Concert Series will end with a presentation from Donny and the Dorsals. Join in for an evening of fun, sun, sand and surf music. Surfboards are optional! Don "Donny" Warren is the lead guitarist for the Dorsals and is the owner of the Six String Place music store and recording studio in Williamston. His love for the guitar started at the age of 12 when his parents bought him a $12 guitar at a local pawn shop. Some of the first songs he learned were from the early surf bands and the Ventures were a huge influence. Over the years, Don has played and recorded with many bands and has most recently played as a solo instrumental guitarist. In 2010 his love for surf music led him to form Donny and the Dorsals with his wife Paula, Curtis Remington and Nick May. Bring your chairs or blankets and enjoy; refreshments available.”
