Doctor Weed is the stage name/secret identity/nom de guerre/pen name/4th personality of Steve Bolton. Most of these songs were written back in the 1980s and 1990s. I attempted to four-track them all years ago, but as you can see, I'm not exactly the world's best sound engineer: these songs are full of mistakes, including bad drum tracks I couldn't record over because they had bled on to other tracks. There are still some good moments though that ought not go to waste. Keep in mind that due to the varying sound quality you may need to adjust the levels on your stereo, particularly the bass; I really recommend using headphones. Some day I'll re-record all of this stuff the right way. I grew up listening to scratchy records and still listen to AM radio full of static when I'm in the Southern Tier, so I'm not exactly picky about sound quality. I have been playing bass for at least 27 years and still live to jam, but I don't take it serious; music is entertainment and a matter of the soul, not a cut-throat business. I'm the only musician I've ever heard of that composes everything on bass guitars with chords, then adds piano, guitar, etc. afterwards. Unfortunately that sometimes make my music sound more menacing than I originally intended. Most of these songs are melodramatic and would be appropriate as soundtracks to action/adventure movies or comic book battles. Each one has a plot behind it, which I will try to post somewhere. The Doctor's prescription: Use as directed. Consume six cheap beers; extinguish lights; put on headphones; play. Contraindications: May cause sniffles, cough, nausea, coma, instant death, rapture, pestilence, plague, final impenitence, Apocalypse. In case of overdose, don't bother to contact call Poison Control - they're my only fans

Bio: I learned to play a mean bass guitar just hours after I was born, as a poor, blind and deaf sharecropper. Times were hard; we didn't even have electricity, which made it difficult to use my double wah-wah pedals. My big break came one day when I was in Georgia and the devil offered me a fiddle of...See Full Bio
