Decypher / Press

“Decypher brings music back to a time when it had substance and wasn't about just getting the next big single on iTunes. And when it all adds up that is what any rock fan wants, songs with meaning and emotion. And Decypher does just that.“ -Turbo, Bullspike Radio”

John Turbo - Bull Spike Radio

“Hi Guys A friend of mine from KEGL radio sent me a link to your site...WOW, I certainly wasn't expecting this...!! ! I'm listening to your music right now.........I like what you're doing ... Great material, and I dig Mike's vocal approach , very stylistic ( which is code for “Damn, you’re good ..!!” : ) .......I really like ’Father'.....Killer arrangement...there is some serious musical brainpower in this one..!! EXCELLENT SONG..!! From Beau Hill....”

“Decypher is one of those bands that puts heart and soul into not just their musical performance and recording but with the writing concepts as well. It's very refreshing to be able to have music played on the radio that doesn't have to be altered for inappropriate lyrics or phrases. No matter what song you decide to play, from beginning to end it's full of great riffs, licks and hard hitting beats.”

“I first heard Decypher around two years ago. I thought they sounded very fresh with a mature sound. What I also liked is that their words were very intelligent and dealt with issues as opposed to the normal heavy rock genre topics. This culminated in them playing at the inaugural SavFest USA gig in Philadelphia this October in aid of my own charity Ian’s Chain. They actually produced a wonderful video linked to a great song "High" which dealt with mental health issues. Watching them was my very close friend Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden who also commented on the quality of their musicianship and song writing which again is a huge compliment.”

Alan Savill - Review

“Staten Island’s Decypher latest release has great elements of the hard rock 90’s, yet still manages to keep the sound modern in today’s world. Beginning with the first track “Father”. It’s a high energy number that’s get’s this CD going. From the vocals of Mike D’Ambra setting the tone, combined with the guitar work of Tim Anastasio, bassist Leo Sabatino and drummer Donn Parent, this is a cohesive unit that should be one to watch for some time. There is no mistaking that there is a truly unique sound running through the blood of Decypher. This release is another winner in 2013 and hopefully one that will put these “Strong Islanders” on the map.”

“Decypher’s anthemic power ballad “High” may be the best song Collective Soul never wrote, a tune that deserves it’s place alongside said bands hits “Shine” and “The World I Know” on rock radio. I consider myself fortunate, honored and privileged to have spun Decypher on The Kasey Ferguson Show early in their ascent up the charts. Just remember, you heard them here first.”

“Juli B (DJ STUDIO 28 RADIO) you guys definitely have your own sound. decypher is one of my favorite bands... www.thepctvnetwork.com”

“One of my new buds, Donn Parent, has been playing drums with a cool hard rock band out of Staten Island called Decypher. How do I know they’re cool? Because I shared the stage with them back in January down in Atlantic City. Donn is originally from the same area that my band BlackOcean is from, but has transplanted himself into my old neck of the woods of New York City. The group is not bad at all. They’re full of great riffs, killer vocals and, of course, thunderous drums supplied by Donn Parent himself. The songs “Father,” “Walk Away” and “One Last Day” showcase what Decypher are made of. In April, Decypher released their debut self-titled EP, which features the aforementioned songs. The EP has garnered the band some airplay in the UK and the boys hope that their across the pond success will bleed over here into the U.S.”

“I get sent music all the time, I'm very lucky, just had the honour of being sent all of the new EP by Donn today, awesome stuff from a promising band , you need to get this EP support local music or if you are out of the area buy buy buy, rare to hear ballads of quality”

“Just heard the Pre-mixes from Decypher's upcoming EP.... Amazing job done by these guys and their Engineer Bob Bowling. Bob surely got the guys to bring it on these tracks. From the Hard Rockers to the Radio Radio hits... I can't give a favorite just yet as my Ears are still recouping from the Eargasm...”

“At First glance one would think Decypher was just another Band from New York. After hearing the songs that were sent for review to our Desk I can honestly say. These guys bring it on Every Emotional Level in all of their songs. I can't wait until I get the New sessions to see what the new Lineup is all about... check them out soon on radio in England. Much Luck to Decypher in 2013”

Miss Bell - Fanzine Radio England

“With Music that needs feeling... Decypher brings it on every song. Emotions are heard throughout the opening verse of their song "High" soon to be heard on stations all throughout the U.S. Decypher has a way of expressing the words with realism in every verse. Be sure to catch them live.”
