"DEAD MOVES/Same (Self Released) This reminded me of Sapphic Ode at times, which was a band I used to manage a few yrs back. The music is a mix of metal and alternative at times and also speedy metal as well. The singer, who is female, has a haunting voice that goes well with the music and I can hear the passion and feeling as this played on. This band incorporates different styles and this is like a breath of fresh air as it is different, but great in a different way. Info: https://www.facebook.com/DEADMOVES"

“Listening to Dead Moves the first thing that struck me was the attention grabbing power and soul of the vocalist, Melissa Pinion... ...Musically, the band lists itself as sounding like Judas Priest and Black Sabbath and I can certainly hear the classic influence. On songs like Guilotine and End Times you hear the Sabbath particularly in the doomy pace of the music. I'd have to say out the songs I heard on their Reverbnation page though that Phobia is my favorite with it's straight up traditional approach and memorable chorus. On this one I get a mix of more upbeat Dio era Sabbath and Angel Witch as there is a sort of NWOBHM anthem touch. Also worth mentioning is that the band can also get considerably heavier/faster and there is a bit of a thrash touch on tracks like I Will Not Die and especially Two Screws Loose. Kind of an ecclectic blend, but it is all tied together pretty well in a sound recognizable as their own... ...This is a band a label needs to take notice of.”

“Dead Moves is a metal band with a twist. Two of its 4 members are female; The vocalist and the bass player. But don’t think that this makes this band any less metal than you would want it to be. In-fact, the singer has a big old school European metal voice. Members of the band are: Melissa Pinion - Vocals, Russell Ethridge - Lead & Rhythm Guitars, Peggy Murphy (DJ PJ) - Bass Guitar, Don Jones - Drums, Percussion. The band is a new band but the members have been rocking the scene in other projects for quite some time. If you like old school European metal with soaring vocals and lyrics, this is your band. This band is a huge supporter of the military. Bass Player Peggy Murphy told us "Whatever I can do to support music for the troops, I'm in". Check them out metal fans.”

“One of the great things about covering the music scene is the chance to see previously undiscovered new bands that absolutely blow your mind with their AWESOMENESS! I was fortunate to see such a show at Liams Irish Pub in Colton, CA on Friday October 19th. The line up from start to finish was nothing less than spectacular. Dead Moves was a unique metal band because it was composed of 2 guys and 2 chicks that rock. Lead vocalist Melissa Pinion is gifted with the sound of an old school European Metal voice. Her strong voice was captivating and when you heard it you were drawn in. Bassist Peggy Murphy was not your average bass player, partly because she did not hide in the back and not take part in the band. Far from it; she was an active player and when the singer jumped she jumped. Guitarist Russell Ethridge played flawless and hard. Drummer Don Jones is a fast, hard double bass metal drummer. I would suggest Dead Moves if you want a good metal band with great lyrics and pro players.”
