Grandiose piano playing, a showman’s voice, and a happy-go-lucky attitude are just a few reasons Dan Orlando is bound to become a household name. He’s a young wizard on the ivory keys and there’s no telling where his talent will plateau. Hailing from Pennsylvania, Dan picked up the piano at the ripe age of 6 when he played a few licks from memory at a local piano shop. The storeowner heard this prodigal child and announced she was coming out of retirement to teach him. Dan began polishing his skills in classical piano, jazz, and blues, to go along with an in-depth knowledge of music theory. These formative years, and a couple of stints in bands, helped Dan realize his lifelong dream of becoming successful singer/songwriter. Don't miss him in an up close and intimate showcase at the Hideaway Cafe on April 25! Opening up the show, we're pleased to welcome Olivia Romano, rising local talent who was recently selected to audition for the Voice. Doors open at 6. Show starts at 8.

Crackerjack musicianship goes a long way toward a band’s greatness but showmanship seals the deal. On stage, Woody Pines is an old soul and natural performer, storied and steeped in the best of American music. His group infuses a hundred years of American music into their live performance - everything from early 20th century acoustic blues and rockabilly to the sounds of the White Stripes and The Black Keys. They'll even drop some hip-hop vibes in the mix. It's a fast-paced, swinging, high-energy show. The band includes Zack Pozebanchuck on upright bass, Lyon Graulty on clarinet, lead guitar and vocal harmonies, Mike Gray on drums and Woody on guitar, harmonica and vocals. They create a Halloween hootenanny that could have come straight out of a time-traveling vaudeville show. Their song "Counting Alligators" puts listeners straight into the backseat of a convertible with Doctor John and Professor Longhair, whipping around the back roads of the Delta on a crisp, autumn night. Their songs "Nashville" and "Delta Bound" evoke Southern gossip or a post-Civil War America where the blues weren't just a style of music, but a way of life. "We pick and choose the best sounding music in the world and sing our own words and put our hearts and souls into that backdrop," says Pines, thus creating a truly unique and infectious style never heard before. Jason Ager is a blues-rock artist with hip-hop and R&B influences. Jason’s self-taught guitar style is distinguished by stylized palm muting and percussive striking. He has been playing original music since picking up the guitar, and has since grown a loyal following in his hometown Philadelphia music scene. Jason also performs upbeat acoustic music that tests the boundaries of the traditional singer-songwriter.
