    Jasper, TX, US | 3:00pm

CANCELLED Join Danny at the Jasper Community Theater, Jasper, Texas, for the 25th year of A Celtic Christmas! Danny will share his Celtic heritage, culture and Christmas traditions in a celebration of the true Christmas spirit of the Celtic Nations of Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Cornwall, Brittany, Galicia, and the Isle of Man. O’Flaherty says the holiday season stirs up fond memories of growing up in Ireland. “Christmas is my favorite time of year. It is a time for sharing and reminiscing about the past, and being with loved ones. Christmas helps remind us of the special bond we share with family and friends, as there is no greater gift than sharing this special time of year with those you love.” First developed in 1990 with Welsh harpist Robin James-Jones, “A Celtic Christmas” concert has since become a popular tradition. It encompasses the customs, stories and songs from each of the seven Celtic nations: Eire (Ireland), Alba (Scotland), Cymru (Wales), Kernow (Cornwall), Breizh (Brittany), Mannin (The Isle of Man), and Gallaecia (Galicia). Knowing it would be a huge undertaking because nothing like it had ever been attempted before, it quickly became a labour of love for Danny and Robin. Hours of research went into the project, and in December 1990, the first showing premiered to delighted audiences and rave reviews. It is a celebration of Celtic music, history and culture. “I will show how the Celts enjoyed Christmas” says O’Flaherty, with a twinkle in his eyes. “In Ireland, everyone comes home for Christmas. It is a real holiday of people coming together, and is a time of peace, reflection and good will. My Christmas wish is that people would share those feelings towards each other throughout the year”. Danny O’Flaherty will bring his precious ancient gifts of music, song, and especially the gift of storytelling, in A Celtic Christmas Concert to The Jasper Community Theatre, 1727 S Wheeler St on November 21 & 22, 2015. Call (409) 384-8718 to reserve tickets.
