Danielle Marie Music / Press

“With the new album Here Right Now, a new holiday single, and a promise of new music to come in 2016 Marie is on her way to becoming one of Canadian Country Music’s brightest rising stars.”

“Danielle Marie took the headlining spot, and she turned heads when she played 2 back-to-back sets. Originally from Morinville, AB, she is a great representation of women in country music. From her personable, in-your-face, and sassy stage persona, to her star-worthy vocal range – Danielle Marie knows how to command a crowd. Lots of shout-outs to childhood friends and past teachers in the crowd, she made the show feel like a familiar gathering of friends. Her comfort onstage comes to show that she was born to do this. Carrying out a dream, one song after another.”

“2015 Canadian Country Music Association's Spotlight Award winner Danielle Marie headlines the first ever all country show at Edmonton's Starlite Room. The singer brought the crowd to their feet along with Alyssa Strand, Nicky Pearsen and Melody Love”

“Danielle Marie has been nominated in the 2nd Round Ballot for 5 categories for the BC Country Music Awards Album of the Year – Here Right Now, Female Vocalist of the Year, Ray McAuley Horizon, Single of the Year – Here Right Now, and Fans Choice”

"When I got the call that I got the spot, I was bawling for hours. It was so surreal. But I have so many people and radio stations supporting me. It’s a crazy feeling. I am where I thought I wouldn’t be, but I’m exactly where I want to be,” said Danielle Marie in a telephone interview from the West Coast.

“July 8, 2015 (Toronto, ON) – The Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) is pleased to announce that British Columbia’s Danielle Marie is the winner of the 2015 CCMA Spotlight Performance Contest. “Now living in Vancouver, the singer/songwriter is returning to her roots for a show at Rednex Bar and Grill Jan. 31 at 9 p.m. She will be playing her yet-to-be-released songs during the 33-song Morinville performance.”

“The other McKillip sister, Britt, had told me, at my first country concert, that country music was fun and that you could not go to a show and not have a good time. Well, Danielle Marie came on stage and did what she needed to do to prove this statement to me. Danielle engages the crowd by looking out at them, moving around the stage, and, most importantly, she doesn’t hide boringly behind a microphone. She is fun and fills a room with high energy, and as she dances up on stage you cannot help but to want to get up and dance too. She did a mixed up version of Mad World with Pumped Up Kicks that was good s&%t, but it was a couple of her own songs that really kicked things up a notch. Check out The Most Country Song and decide for yourself.”

“Touch ~ The thing about pop rock nowadays is that every song seems to be a retread of the previous song and their seems to be no originality. In the case of this track, this is not your typical pop song. The blend of the vocalist with the overdub is very professional and she sounds a lot like Pink or Rhiana, but giving her own style to the song. I really like the lyrics to the song as they flow along and only begin punching toward the end, building up to a great finish. While not being overly suggestive, this track has a definite sexiness to it and I can see the music video that it should invariably have. The hook is pretty good and will have you singing it all the time as you are dancing in the aisles or at work. The blend of the music is also very good, not overplaying any of the instruments and drowning out the vocalist. I could see this on the top ten charts and possibly going to number one with the right promotion. Good job on this one.”

“Where Does The Time Go ~ The artist in this song has a flawless voice. She is pitch perfect and her lyrics are audible to the max. I like the smooth style she sings in. It relaxes me and puts me in a trance. The instrumental is beautiful as well. I really like the way the artist harmonizes with the melody in the beat. This song deserves to be on the radio. It is too good in quality for anything less. It may be a hit too.”

“With Danielle's performance of 'Where Does The Time Go', she brings you into her life, she holds you tight, and she doesn't let go. Warmly personal. I love this.”

Grammy Award Winning Nashville hit songwriter ~ Byron Hill - Where Does The Time Go

“Danielle is also inspired by Ed Sheeran and this shines through with her electronic/ acoustic guitar on top of nice soft drums which he is famous for and one day Danielle will also be famous for.”

“This Life ~ This song starts off very nicely. The girl's voice is extremely pretty and I never really care for female singers. The harmony in her voice and the pitch is very beautiful and the guitars are very nice as well. The lyrics speak truth describing life as a roller coaster ride. I really enjopy this song and the elements behind it”

“Back Road ~ Kind of had a pop introduction. Like the instrumentals, because they made the song more interesting. A lot of songs about love can bore you because of the instrumentals, but this song is the same, a song telling a story about love, but instead of just a singer singing with just guitar instrumentals in the back, this one is more upbeat, and positive, and keeps your interest partly because of the high paced melody and vocals, and it is great because it does not make you want to cry. That is the main reason because it is a good love song, but does not make me feel sad and want to cry at the same time, like a lot of other love songs. I could definitely hear this song on the radio. It is just so catchy!”

“Honestly ~ This singer of this song sounds a bit like Avril Lavigne. I really love her voice, and she can do a lot with it just with minimal effort. The music is the perfect fit for the song, and it has a lot of subtle melodies that pair well with the beat to provide a balance for the song. The lyrics are something that the singer puts a lot of effort in to and it is really obvious that this is important to her and that she really wants this to work. Her song would do well in the music industry today, as it is a simple song that a lot of younger girls can relate to. I really love the feel of this song. It is something wonderful and peaceful. There are few artists like this one in the industry and she deserves some real recognition.”

“Thumb Wars ~ This song is so sweet and lovely! The lyrics really make it magical and the nostalgic kind of feeling it has really makes this song so cute and unique. This is such a bubble sweet and caring song with a great vibe and an even greater meaning behind it. The quality of the song is fantastic and everything is in perfect balance. The beat is at a nice, steady pace and really reflects the artists own personal tastes. The vocals are incredible and you have a really strong, distinctive voice that fits this song perfectly.”

“Without You ~ I like these vocals. She has a beautiful voice. The tempo in this song is good, I like it. It isn't too slow and not too quick either. Good flow to the song as there is some positive energy created here. Her voice is just amazing. I can pick her out of a crowd easily. Dynamics and vocal expression are impressive. People will love her because she connects with the listener. Nice little melody here. Just enough beat. This would do well if it was on the radio. All of her music should be!”

“Loving You ~ This song is profoundly interesting. The singer's voice is distinct and skilled, using a range of tones and pitches accurately. Her voicing makes it sound as though she is sincere and heartfelt about the topic. The song was set at a good pace. The structure of the song was well organized and the concept/topic of the song was meaningful and so were the lyrics. The cheerful beat and the sound of the instrumentals were spot on and a perfect accompaniment. It was balanced and rich all the way through. The melody was complex and shapely. This artist is surely talented, natural and professional. The overall performance of the song was very well and I feel as though it definitely has a chance to make it big.”

“Choose Me ~ “This pop love song is that kind of music that can make fans from 16-80 years old people. Great composition. The lead vocal with her pretty delicate voice performs in the best way possible. The lyrics are very tempting and very meaningful. The sound quality is very good. believe this type of song has power to be introduced in the radio and movie themes.””

“Mad Kicks ~ This is a really cool cover. I dig that she uses two different songs for this cover... and I think she does both of them justice. Her voice is very sweet and pleasant sounding, but with a hint of raw emotion and makes you want to close your eyes when you listen to her sing. The guitar rhythm I thought was beautiful. I could've just listened to her play that. This is a song, when you hear it for the first time, you start sharing it with everyone. I think it could probably be a hit, but this would be the song that everyone would want to hear her sing live for sure. I can already see a room clapping and cheering as she starts playing this song. Great great cover... Touche”
