April 12th -14th 2013 will be our 5th festival in a biennial series of local outreach festivals. The events have raised over 2 tons of food that is donated to the local Hunger and Health Coalition and this year begins the merging of the event with the Boone Community Network. Festival goers will be able to earn their entry fee with can food donation, time in service to the community, or a payment of time of service to the performers and workshop leaders themselves. This is a small example of the ideals behind having a Time Bank in our local community. This spring, the event will be held at High Country Fairgrounds in Boone, NC. on April 12 - 14th. Tickets are redeemable 4 ways! * Bring 20 non-perishable food items to the venue or Green Mother Goods before the event until April 18. * Participate in one of several community service projects led by Neighborhood Yoga teacher trainers. * Offer your personal skills, crafts, or service for individual band members and work shop leaders of the festival, as a part of Boone Community Networks TIme Bank. * Pay $20 cash at the gate. Community Service Payment Options- Over the corse of the next couple of months we will be offering several different Community Service projects organized by Neighborhood Yogas' Teacher Trainers. This is an opportunity for you to become directly involved with the organization that Boone in Blossom and Harvest Boone serve as well as others like it in our local community. Your participation in these projects is playing a part in the outreach of service and building the Karma Krew principals these festivals were inspired by. CONTACT: email@example.com Time Bank-ish Payment Option- This will be a demonstration of the fundamentals behind the Time Bank that will hopefully be coming to Boone soon. The idea is that you send an email that is a profile about yourself and the services you would like to offer. If you make a craft, or goods, that counts. You could clean someone's kitchen, help with spring cleaning, help in garden, or more. The idea is to get creative and help network our talents in this community to have those redeemable the same as cash. These must be received by April 1st!
