Coming Undone / Press

“The all-girl rock group, Coming Undone is looking to make a name. The rock band, which has been compared to the Pixies and AC/DC is preparing to host a CD release party for their debut album on Friday at Hangar 7 in Lake City. The event begins at 9 P.M. The group consisting of Dusty Ouimette on drums, Kate "Ivey" Dobson on guitar and Jen Milne on bass, will perform Friday night along with two other bands. "This just started out as a hobby" Ouimette said of the three-member band. "When we relized that people were liking us and there could be something here, we decided we would make a CD and see where it went from there." The group has performed several shows locally including numerous performances at Hangar 7 as well as Marion Street Cafe and the Rockstar Lounge. They often play in Gainesville and Jacksonville, Ouimette said. "I'd love nothing more in life than be able to just rent an RV and travel the country playing music every night" Ouimette said. ”

The songs span the range of emotions from the silly yet sultry to the seductive and severe. The song “Can’t Wait” spouts the lyrics “Take what you can get, ‘cause I ain’t stayin’ long tonite,” and “Coming Undone”, their namesake song warns, “Guess I should let you know, in case you’re unaware, I have a reputation for givin’ men nightmares.” This is all in good fun, as can be seen by their smiles and the fun the girls have together on stage. Ivey brings intense emotion to her singing and Jen backs up her poppy melodies with pleasantly cohesive harmonies. Dusty is an old-skool rock ‘n’ roll queen on her throne behind the drums and drives through the songs with the enthusiasm of the beautiful buxom blonde she is.”
