Colours of Sound is a house band based in Durban, South Africa, with two members, Sfiso Kcay (Sifiso Khumalo) and Richard B (Yanga Mzayiya); both being Producers, DJs, Song witters and Instrumentalists.
Colours of Sound came into being in early 2016 – when Richard B and Sfiso Kcay decided to work together. They had already been producing music separately for years before that. From the onset this partnership led to string of respectable production that have been lighting up the dance floors around Durban clubs and events. Colours of Sound has enjoyed support from big name south African DJs and party goers alike.
Durban is known as the mother of house & kwaito music in South Africa and Colours of Sound are flying the flag for the city. Early 2016 the duo teamed up with another successful DJ & Vocalist,” DJ Wonder and Fey” to work on a track called “Tomorrow”, on which Colours of Sound provided a complete production of the track that is simply magical. This song is now the biggest dance song currently on national radio stations in South Africa.
10 February 2017, the duo released their single titled “Emuva” featuring on of the best vocalists in Durban “SneMusiq”, along with “Tomorrow (Flute Remake)” as a bonus track.
The band is currently signed under an independent record label called “SKCAY ENTERTAINMENT”. Their journey in the music industry has been fruitful with lessons learnt along the way. They have managed to anticipate different sounds that appeal to the dance floor junky, so their music is testament to that and is mostly influenced by LIVE sounds.
On stage, Colours of Sound makes use of vocalists, DJ Decks, Piano & Percussions to support their act. They are rapidly gaining respect for their LIVE acts. If the work they have done so far is anything to go by, 2017 will be an even bigger year for the young lads.
