Fashion Week Music Festival
Claire London, Sarah Tracey, Nancy Danino and Jaquita May, will perform together for the first time at WOMEN ROCK NYC, presented by Claire London & Feminine Weapon, at The Cutting Room on Tuesday, October 15th. Hosted by TV Personality Kesha Nichols, the ticketed event ($20 in advance/$25 at door) will begin with a cocktail reception at 7pm, followed by performances starting at 8pm. The net proceeds from this event will benefit Sons of HD, a non-profit formed in 2010 by its principals, Brian Falciglia, Scott Falciglia and Andrew McDermott (the “Sons”) to raise funds and awareness for Huntington's Disease (HD). Scott and Brian lost their mother, Alice Falciglia, to HD, genetic disease, in February 2008. After diagnosis, Alice gradually lost the ability to do everyday things, from driving a car, to speaking and eventually walking. Driven by the fear of a similar fate, the organization is determined to create impact and share their story with as many people as possible. Claire London was inspired to put together an event, celebrating women in music, through her desire to rock out and collaborate with other strong female artists. She soon brought friend and label-mate, Sarah Tracey, on board to help formulate the idea and proposed it to Founder & CEO of Feminine Weapon, Christina Weber. Around the same time, Weber ran a triathlon for Sons of HD and committed to continued support of their organization. The three came together one evening with Nancy Danino and within hours a venue was booked, and Women Rock NYC was born. Shortly after, they invited Jaquita May to perform and Kesha Nichols to host. All excited by the opportunity to jam together, making an important contribution for Sons of HD.
