“This year, the ladies will compete for a cash prize and the famous Meatball Trophy, which comedian Lindsay Boling walked away with last year. “I’m not going down there because it’s a contest,” says contender Courtney Kay Meyers, a comic based in Indianapolis. “I’m going down there because it’s an opportunity to see my friends I don’t get to see all of the time. It’s just an excuse to come and tell jokes. And it’s always a crap-shoot … who knows who’s gonna win?””

“I first noticed comedian, Courtney Kay Meyers, while she was performing at Lazy Dave Coffee House's weekly Monday Night open mic for stand-up comics. The open mic provides an opportunity for working stand-up comics to try out new material and their routine; it also provides an opportunity for someone who wants to try their hand at stand-up comedy in a relaxed, friendly environment. In that Ms Meyers was the only female stand-up comic that performed that night, I thought it would be interesting to learn about being a stand-up comic from a female point of view. “Courtney Kay Meyers, CKM as she calls herself, is endearing, entertaining, hilarious, and most importantly, an all around amazing person. The volunteer at the soup kitchen she frequents compares her to Carol Burnett. She is her mother’s 3rd favorite comedian of all time.”

“NashvilleStandUp alumni Courtney Kay Meyers (now an Indianapolis resident and the evil genius behind IndyStandUp.com) checks in with a video of her new soulful love song.. titled “My Hand.” For more infos on CKM, visit her website CKMcomedy.com, see her videos on RooftopComedy or YouTube, follow her on Twitter, friend her on FaceBook or MySpace, or just drop by her apartment unannounced early in the morning.”

“Sometimes good things come from the combination of a few mediocre things. Conceiving this meal was one of those times. The Chicken Cottage Mac consist of 1/2 can chicken (water drained), 1/4 cup cottage cheese, and 3 slices wheat toast. I seasoned this tower of protein and carbs with basil and black pepper packets. I added the seasonings and cottage cheese to the 1/2 can chicken left-overs in my fridge and just mixed it all up right there in the can. It was a message to dishes, “I will not be a slave to you”, take that, dishes! At the same time toast was happening. 3 slices of it. Once can mixing meets toast stacked like a BigMac without the colorful stuff. beef, or hate, you’re ready for a filling meal you may or may not want to get to eat again (tastes best when eaten with a smile).”
