Pop Ferguson Blues / Press

“Pop (Clyde, Sr.)Ferguson has been playing guitar for over 70 years. A native of the foothills of North Carolina near Wilkesboro, Pop developed a unique approach that reflects Appalachian and Piedmont roots with a foundation of pure, deep Blues. Close your eyes and you know you are in the room with Blind Boy Fuller and John Lee Hooker!”

“Ferguson has been playing the blues since he was a teenager, spending many years traveling the country, making his music at each stop along the way. He recently was honored by the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC. A recording of Ferguson's music along with many of his stories will be featured in the National Museum of African-American History and Culture. It is within this museum that Pop Ferguson's stories and music will live next to other African- American history makers such as President Barack Obama and Martin Luther King Jr.”
