Cirque Zuma Zuma / Press

“Been gone to a conference last week so I'm sorry for being slow in getting back to you. Cirque Zuma Zuma was a great hit both for the 2 Intermediate school programs and our evening program at Hill College. The cast was extremely easy to work with; we probably had a total of approximately 1,100 people attending those 3 programs and everyone of all ages thoroughly enjoyed the programs. I'd definitely recommend this show to other presenters. Thanks again for your help in setting up this program. “Hi Diane, Undoubtedly, this is a terrific group to work with. They were polite and gracious with everyone they worked with. We had two children’s performances today and the kids squealed with delight and of course they were in awe of what this talented group of men and women were capable of. I would recommend them to other performing art centers, for sure. Thank you, Judy Kerpa Lancaster Performing Arts Center 661-723-554”

The troupe did a remarkable job! The cast was extremely easy to work with and very friendly. I hope they felt the same way about us! : My supervisor and I were so happy with the performances, and the venue was packed last night! Overall, it was a great experience that we'd love to do again. “Marshall Performing Arts Center (MPAC) welcomed Cirque de Zuma Zuma, an African-style Cirque du Soleil last Friday, Jan. 24th. Although most students had only heard of the event through word-of-mouth and posters, a line had already formed before doors opened, and MPAC was nearly packed to capacity when the show started. Sophomore Austin Monsrud, Kirby Program Board Variety Chair of Special Events and organizer for Friday’s performance, was pleased with attendance. “We filled probably 400 (seats),” he said. MPAC capacity is around 500 according to Monsrud. And those who came were thoroughly entertained. “I loved it,” said Senior Laura Temme. “They had so much energy and it was so much fun to watch.” Zuma performers onstage regularly cued audience members, eliciting whoops, whistles and cheers from their newfound fans. Senior Kaila Formanek agreed with Temme’s assessment. “It was amazing,” Formanek said. “They had really good humor throughout the whole thing too.”

“You were right! I loved the show…Better yet, the audience loved the show, with two standing ovations at the end. Look forward to seeing you in NY. Best, Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Steve Clark”

“We just held our first diversity fair celebrating the many cultures that make up our community. Students sang, artists exhibited work and local eateries sold samples in our lobby for a few hours prior to what was a captivating performance by Zuma Zuma. And I’ll be the first to admit that I panicked when the acrobats invited what seemed like half the student audience to come join them onstage. But once I saw the interaction between these pros and the students, all fears were washed away. Hadn’t I brought Zuma Zuma in to share their culture with our audiences? What better way to do so than to teach these eager students how to do handstands and juggle and… well, you get the idea. What a great day! “Cirque Zuma Zuma artistes present high-energy spectacles featuring juggling, hoop-jumping, contortions, human pyramids and balancing acts on poles 30 feet above the stage.”

“Zuma Zuma African Acrobat performance at our Fair was nothing short of amazing, fun with fantastic interaction with the audience. Four sets each day each with the same amount of energy. At each set it was “the norm” for the audience to grow in numbers as they passed by their stage. At the conclusion of each performance they would invite fairgoers to come on stage to dance with them and offer photo opts as well. Each member of Zuma Zuma was polite, engaging, and fun to be around. I strongly recommend them for your next Fair or Festival. ”
