Chasing Ghosts is about the journey, not the destination. A unique Folk sound with Country undertones, a change of pace for Jimmy Kyle whose new direction is a soulful and intimate departure from his Hardcore roots. Jimmy sang and screamed his way through the Australian music scene for many years and shared the stage alongside the likes of Parkway Drive, I Killed The Prom Queen, The Amity Affliction, Silverstein (USA), Comeback Kid (CAN) and many more national and international artists during the mid naughties. In 2010 Jimmy started to slowly create something that told a humble story, "Chasing Ghosts". 2011 saw the release of Chasing Ghosts’ debut solo record "Confessions from a Phone Booth". A raw album fre...e of all digital bells and whistles but rather recorded and engineered completely to tape with US Producer Andy Beck. With a debut release, isolated airport living in all corners of the Nation quickly followed. A DIY ethos, a tireless work ethic and a vigorous touring schedule saw Chasing Ghosts across Australia, and New Zealand Making Festival appearances alongside wide range of artist including Neil Finn of Crowded House (NZ), Sarah Blasko (AUS), Ash Grunwald (AUS), The Almost (USA) Reliant K (USA), and the Chariot (USA). Chasing Ghosts has played on mixed bills from the start with support slots with US Artists Kenny Vasoli of Emo/Punk kids the "Starting Line" to Keyboard Mosh darlings House Vs Hurricane are another testament of Chasing Ghosts' Diversity and ability to tell a timeless story of life experiences and hope to any audience. After National tour supports with Canadian Post Hardcore monster Sights and Sounds (featuring Andrew Neufield of Comeback kid) 2013 saw Chasing Ghosts take a deep breath and dive into the wild ride of touring South East Asia for the first time! A mixture of local folk punk supports singing Cash covers in unusual accents and familiar tattoos to supporting the explosive Balinese Punk Hardcore outfit Strikes with intense pits. This followed a return to Australia for a national sold out tour with close friend and Youtube sensation D at Sea. After taking some time off from Chasing Ghosts saw Jimmy stepp back into the Hardcore arena to fill in on guitar duties and clean vocals with Australia Mosh-Metal powerhouse Confession on Parkway Drives’ ten year anniversary tour. Chasing Ghosts continues to build a loyal fan base one show at a time, a story at a time. Rounding up another national tour road testing tunes in the lead up to his sophomore album Chasing Ghosts continues to cross barriers with timeless story telling, crowd sing-alongs and the rumble of his baritone melodies. This is the start of a brilliant journey for an older kind of soul and an exciting new talent.
