Candace is an Afro-Pop/ Afro-House artist, singer, song writer and performer. From Durban South Africa. Her sound is deliciously addictive with pulsing African beats, pop chords and funky pop, rnb vocals. She describes her musical sound as a fusion of West African and South African dance/house music.
Candace Barnwell was born in Kwa Zulu Natal Durban South Africa on 20 June 1990.
1996 Candace's road to music started at the age of 6 after being selected as one of a small Group of children to meet Michael Jackson and join him in singing happy birthday to the then-President and noble peace prize winner Nelson Mandela on his 78th birthday. Celebration at the Sun City holiday resort.
Attending school at the National School of the Arts Contemporary Music.
Candace enjoyed success as a independent musician performing first as a cabaret Singer in casinos, theatre’s and show bars. Then Candace collaborated in pop/rock/ dance party bands gigging around Johannesburg, South Africa and other parts of Africa and the Middle East.
Mid 2015 Candace decided to start her solo career. Drawing inspiration from her traveling. She developed her personal style and Afro-house sound while still incorporating a light fun feel. “Let your hair down” and “dance bare foot music.” Is just some of the ways fans have described Candace music and performance style.
2016 March Candace Released her debut single “Now is the time”. Lyrics and melody written by Candace herself, production and publishing done by Daniel Isele and D.I Production.
