“One auspicious Saturday eve, whilst patronizing the Labor Temple, a band I’d heard of but not seen, was rocking out. The place was packed. We settled into our standingroom only spot and took in the action. “Wow. This band is good, like really good. Who are they?” As I looked around the room, I noticed that the rest of the crowd was mesmerized... Lead singer Dors Ward might have had something to do with it. Backed by a solid classic rock rhythm section - guitarist Lawrence Anthony, bassist/synthesist Erik Martin and drummer Evan Rose; lead singer Dors Ward can and does give us a real sweet deal. Think Roger Daltry/Robert Plant; Ward is a “Pied Piper”, loose and flowing, a fluid rock vocalist, a committed performer who gives the music to the audience. Subscribing to the concept that less is more, “Broken Soviet writes music that is accessible to a wide audience that crosses generational boundaries.” Makes sense. Pulsing high energy, sweat and emotion, definitely worth it.”
