Bourbon & Bliss features Virginia-bred singer/songwriters Elizabeth Eckert-Ross & T. Scott Ross. Growing up in the Shenandoah Valley, Elizabeth is the daughter of a jazz musician and an opera singer. The wide range of influences present in her writing are a perfect match for her eclectic harmonic background, ranging from Harold Arlen to Alanis Morissette. T. Scott, belonging to a family of professional dancers in VA Beach, decided to nurture his rebellious spirit by becoming a musician instead. His early influences, Garth Brooks and Travis Tritt, eventually gave way to the more complex acoustic stylings of John Mayer and Dave Matthews Band. The pair met at Shenandoah Conservatory where they both hold B.F.A.s. They formed Bourbon & Bliss in 2011, and together they create songs through their musicality, storytelling, and seamless vocal blend.
“The Trouble We Crave” is the band’s first studio album. The six track EP was recorded at Stamford Recording with producers Jason Polise and Ben Kibbey completely lock-in style over three 20 hour days. Blurring the lines between Jazz, Classic Soul, Americana, and an Alternative/DIY aesthetic, the album runs the emotional gamut from tales of newfound love to betrayal and heartbreak. You can find Bourbon & Bliss performing around NYC anywhere from their local wine bar in Astoria, to prestigious music venues such as Rockwood Music Hall and The Bowery Electric.
