Borrowed Bones / Press

“What Borrowed Bones started with “Live at the Rec Room” gets amped up with “American Garage.” If you love rock ’n’ roll and long for the days when the Sunset Strip was packed with people who could play a wailing solo, this one is for you.”

"Borrowed Bones has evolved and gone on to be a bright beacon of rock out of Riverside, releasing two albums, 2012’s “Live at the Rec Room” and new disc “American Garage,” which was released in May."

"Borrowed Bones is Riverside's premier Rock band. If you like all the great Rock from the '70s and '80s you'll dig Borrowed Bones."

“Riverside rock band Borrowed Bones was on the verge of turning into dust a while back, but now the group has grown back stronger with two new members. Guitarist Mark Shrader and drummer Anthony Feery will make their debut with the band at a show at Romano’s Concert Lounge in Riverside on Friday, March 7. The band has been working on a new EP of six songs that will be out soon (the band’s debut, “Live at the Rec Room” was one of the best local albums of 2012). Also, the Chris Thayer Band will open the show. 10 p.m. Friday, March 7, Romano’s Concert Lounge, 5225 Canyon Crest Drive, Riverside, free, 21 and older only. Visit www.facebook.com/borrowedbonesband for more on the band.”

“Riverside rock band Borrowed Bones will celebrate the release of new album “American Garage” with a show on Friday, May 30 at Romano’s Concert Lounge in Riverside. Admission to the show also nets you a copy of the band’s sophomore disc. If you like the spirit of 1980s rock ‘n’ roll straight from the Sunset Strip, but with more edge and less teased hair, this is the disc for you. The opening guitar riff of “Kiss Me One Time” puts its hooks in you immediately. “Pour Me Another Round” is another standout on the release. Roughhouse is also on the bill. 9 p.m. Friday, May 30, Romano’s Concert Lounge, 5225 Canyon Crest Drive, Riverside, $10, 21 and older only.”

“It’s time for another album on my Local Favorites of 2012 list. For the past week I’ve been revealing my favorite albums and EPs from Inland Empire-based artists. You can see the rest at the Local Favorites link or pick up a copy of The Press-Enterprise on Friday, Dec. 28. Borrowed Bones “Live at the Rec Room” For Borrowed Bones’ debut release, the Riverside rock group decided to record a live show over the summer. It was the right decision. The guitar work comes alive, the rhythm section pops and the energy is high on this fun, straight-up rock record from the band that rose from the ashes of The Generation. There are big hooks and big riffs all through the songs, but among the standouts on the record are “Angel’s Heart Attack” and “Not Your Fool.””

“One of my most anticipated local rock albums has finally arrived and the band responsible is playing Romano’s Concert Lounge in Canyon Crest on Friday, Nov. 9. Borrowed Bones, which rose like a phoenix from the ashes of Riverside rock staple The Generation, decided to go with a live album for its debut. It’s an old-fashioned live rock ‘n’ roll record and the format serves the songs well, which include standouts “Angel’s Heart Attack,” and “Not Your Fool.” The band will be joined by Hollywood rockers Love and a .38, who are kicking off their west coast tour with the show. 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, Romano’s Concert Lounge, 5225 Canyon Crest Drive, Riverside, $10, 21 and older only.
