Ismael Ndoye, born in Bargny , in the suburbs of Dakar, Senegal, learned to play guitar from his oncle at th age of 12 year. As he has this special voice, groovy and warm, his uncle invites him to sing in his orchestra at the age of 16. With his first salary he bought his first guitar. Due to jealousy in the band because of his growing role as a poular singer-songwriter, he decided to leave his hometown at the age of 20. He sold his bed to get some money to travel to Gambia. There he became popular on soundsystems, performing hiphop , especially strong in improvising and still having strong messages and even poetry in his words. HipHop was soon too easy for Ismael though. Something higher was waiting him, that's what he felt, so he left Gambia and went for several months living in the mystic bushes of the Casamance, living on what the earth gave and what he gathered playing in local bars. There inspiration started to flow and his destiny was clear, 'only music can lift me up'!
In 2010 ,after travelling Gambia, Guinnea, Casamance, Mali and some of Mauretania, he returned rich of songs, poor in his pockets to Senegal again. Soon he created an audience, just playing guitar and singing his own songs with this special voice in Saly, the biggest tourist city of the West-Coast of Africa. In 2012 Ismael decided to form a band together with his best friend Dominique, a Belgian Jazz singer. They named their band 'Benne Bayfall' after the song which was so succesfull in Saly. So here we are : 6 musicians in total, with only one woman , who isn't Senegalese...but lives in Senegal for several years and thinks African !
We already went twice on tour during the summer of 2014 and 2015 through Europe. We even played on the home tour of Youssou Ndour in 2014 and are performing nearly every day here in Saly.
