Local band Beltain (Mikkel & Morgan McDow and David Cowan) performs original and traditional ballads and dances. Songs range from Purcell catches to Celtic ballads and English broadsides set to a rocking beat. ~ Amelia Hogan & Deborah Hamouris ~ Wood, Strings & Women’s Voices ~ A Magical Weaving of Old and New-world Music ~ Vocal harmonies, Harp and Dulcimer ~ Two crafters-of-song blend voices & instruments for an evening of traditional and contemporary folk music with a smattering of originals. Tales from Ireland to Appalachia, London to Berkeley, Old New York to New Orleans, plus a few dance tunes to send us on our merry way down the road. ~ Cafe Flo serves Sandwiches & wraps, appetizers, salads, soup, baked treats, beer & wine. They have a happy hour from 3-6pm.

Bio: Beltain formed in Oakland, California around the nucleus of Mikkel McDow, guitar & vocals, Morgan Thomas, bass & vocals and J Boyd, drums. The first quartet was completed by Chris Kemp on lead guitar.
