On Friday night , January 24th., 2014, beginning at 8pm, at Club 66, 1951 Ashland St. in Ashland, a celebration of American Roots music featuring the bands, Bear Creek, Ponderosa Breeze, and Ur Mom. The band Ponderosa Breeze consists of Franklin Jonez who plays slide and rhythm guitar, banjo, and sings, Larry West who plays lead guitar and sings, and Gus Johnson, who plays keys and also sings. All three members bring years of performing experience to the stage to present a nice selection of Country-influenced originals. Ur Mom plays acoustic covers of folk/rock/blues/country and anything else we find interesting and fun to cover! Rich vocal harmonies are accompanied by guitar, mandolin and percussion. Heather Ayers, Lynn Kuntsman, and Leslie Phillips always put on a fun show and always engage the audience throughout the performance. The band Bear Creek plays an eclectic mix of bluegrass, alt.country, and delta-style blues. The band members are; Dave Jackson on guitar, ukelele, percussion, and vocals, Craig Juan on bass and vocals, Kim Mericle on guitar, percussion, and vocals, Pete Sheil on banjo, mandolin, and vocals, Jim MacLeod on guitar and vocals, and Roger Lemstrom on guitar, dobro, mandolin, harmonica, and vocals. Club 66 has great food, a great ambiance, and a great room for performing and listening. Chef Uzi serves up wonderful food. Minimal cover charge.
