BAD BOY EDDY / Press

“: Karl Granneman - vocals Dave Saker - lead guitar and vocals Steve Jones Bass Larry Bernal Drums Larry Bernal - drums Have you ever listened to a CD for the first time and it doesn’t quite grab you the way you think it should? This is the impression I first heard from this cd, but after spinning Bad Boy Eddy’s CD ‘Over The Top’ a fistful of times, it certainly proved me wrong and it undoubtedly didn’t take me long to warm to it. The album, released in 2012, is another one that seemed to have fell off The Rockpit’s grid, but now we have found this little gem, we are not letting it pass through our fingers that easy! Hailing from California, Bad Boy Eddy are a relatively new band with experienced musicians which have soared into the rock circuit and are continuing to climb higher. They are full of the attitude and determination needed to get out kick some ass”

“ Gives me skepticism when I read "the hard rock of the 80's is back", either because style never stop being in mouth of the media (except for a couple of years in the mid-1990s, but at least Tommy Lee was giving to talk about), or because there are people like me, who took it as a way of life. "Above all" is how this plate is titled, and go to its description. Eddie Vega possesses a voice between acute, similar to Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat, as also at times sounds to me similar to the way of singing Whitfield Crane of Ugly Kid Joe. Although in " "" Fly Away" is a soft, the voice becomes type Vince Neil, as well as the sound texture of the musical piece to Motley Crue, reminds me of "New Tattoo", true? "I Don't Want You" is a tema live or at least added to effect that was made live, as it is " "" Maker of Dreams", with which close this round. "Living Lies" is characterized by an excellent combination between guitar and bass,”

“elease date: December 9, 2012 http://www.demondollrecords.com To label Bad Boy Eddy's “Over The Top” as “hair metal” is not doing the music produced by the American quintet complete justice. While there are unmistakable elements of the genre that exploded out of the 1980s California rock scene, the album also contains some quite heavy moments. Initially I thought Eddy Vega and C° were a veteran act that had been paying its dues since forming in the early 90s but I recently found out that we're dealing with a new band of which the members have been active on the scene for the past 2 decades but in separate projects. Anyway, if someone told me that this is another one of those long lost records that has now been unearthed, I would have no reason to doubt it cause the whole affair has that 80s vibe running through it. Taking center stage on “Over The Top” are the unpolished but quite impressive vocals of mister Vega who spits, bites and growls his way through thi”

“Band: Bad Boy Eddy Album: Over The Top Label: Demon Doll Records Release: .2013 Website: www.facebook.com / badboyeddy Almost 25 years Fans had to wait for the debut of the American BAD BOY EDDY. Now have Eddie Vega (vocals), Dave Saker (ex-OZ) (guitar), Eddie Nixon (guitar), Tim Sanders (bass) and Larry Bernal (drums) caught a heart and let "Over The Top" off the leash . Already in the late 1980gern herded the loose in the underground of the Bay Area and has opened for bands like FIREHOUSE, QUIET RIOT or TRIXTER. With the power of the Skid Row guys still confuse DOKKEN, STRYPER and LOVE / HATE to a drinkable brew that will delight just have. The title "Over The Top" is so carefully chosen. With "Fever" begins the wild ride without warning. Here the advantages of BAD BOY EDDY be seen immediately: this band rocks without compromise. "She Gives Me A Feeling" noisy but not close with the rapid pace of the opener, but has an extra dose of melody on board.”

“. There are some killer tunes right up front, starting off with the hot and strutting “Fever” with some great raunchy guitars and Vega putting it all into the vocals; the high energy, guitar-driven power-pack “She Gives Me A Feeling”; and my own favorite, the sleaze-rocking anthem “I Don’t Want You”: I just love the power and defiance in Vega’s voice on this track. “Super Sonic Freak” is another keeper, coming at you with an almost Judas Priest-like menace to the vocals and the music. The rest of the album keeps it rocking and rolling. Rough and tumble tunes with a decidedly raunchy sense of humor like the Van Halen-esque “Funky Monkey”, and “Rad Ruby” are just further examples of how to bring back the 80s in a much better way than with neon leg-warmers and bad perms. Bad Boy Eddy have put together an album that is decidedly retro-flavoured, but doesn’t feel played out or derivative, because the band puts their own heavy rocking heart into the perform”

“On bad boy eddys new album the 80s are back and there back in hard-rocking style. This high-octane outfit plays 80s flavored rock’n’roll that is hard, sleazy, and fun, bringing to mind the best hair-days of bands like Van Halen and Skid Row. The music is old-school in a very good way, and it’s played with a lot of flair and fire, while the lyrics definitely have a dirty mind as well as a wicked sense of humor (listen to “Funky Monkey” and you’ll know what I mean). Bad Boy Eddy is made up of five experienced musicians out of California: Eddie Vega on lead vocals, Dave Saker on lead guitar, Eddie Nixon on guitar, Tim Sanders on bass, and Larry Bernal on drums. The quintet shows off some massive classic hard rock skills here, with riffs that rough you up and rub you down, and a rhythm section that can just about floor you. Putting the finishing touch on all that is Vega’s terrific vocals: he can howl and growl, soar, snarl, or sneer, whatever the situation calls for ”

“ Bad Boy Eddy Over The Top by CJ "Music God" Plain at 21 January 2013, 10:55 AM Share this on Facebook | Share this on Twitter I've been telling people for a while now that Hair Metal is making a comeback. BAD BOY EDDY is a perfect example of the new wave of Hair bands that are coming out and kicking ass. This band just out and out rocks. Period. BAD BOY EDDY harken you back to the hey days of SKID ROW, KIX, and STEELHEART. "Over The Top" embodies everything that was great about the Hair band era: monster riffs, huge drums, thunderous bass riffs, and vocals that could melt the skin off your face. BAD BOY EDDY has hit a definite home run with this. This album was named on a number of people's Top 10 lists for 2012 and I couldn't disagree with that at all. Demon Doll Records has worked hard at building a roster of the best in Glam, Sleaze, and Hair Metal bands from both the past and present. They've acquired the rights to some of my very favourite artists”

“American veteran rockers BAD BOY EDDY have been playing many shows with many Bay Area hard rock acts including nationals like PAT TRAVERSE, ULI JOHN ROTH and FASTERPUSSYCAT. They have released the debut album "Over The Top" worldwide through DEMON DOLL RECORDS on December 9th 2012. BAD BOY EDDY absolutely hammers it with energetic, melodic, heart-thumping and fist-pumping, sleazy, sexy ROCK 'N' ROLL and every aspect. This album takes you back to the golden days of 80's Hair Metal at its peak. Of course, their making of songs and performance technique are splendid, but are also full of solid tunes only by the hard-bitten veteran on this album. Listening and order are now available on DEMON DOLL RECORDS website.”

“.. Oh my goat.. If you are a fan of 80’s sleaze/Sunset Strip/glam metal (I’m talking LA Guns, WASP, Faster Pussycat, Motley Crue, Ratt), real fist-pumping stuff, then you REALLY gotta listen to this band!! And it’s really no wonder that they’re able to maintain the 80’s feel as they’ve opened for staples of that genre such as Love/Hate, Trixster, Y&T, Saigon Kick, Keel, Firehouse, Quiet Riot.. I can’t really pick out just one track to comment on so I’ll write this review about all of them.. Essentially you’re thrown into The Cathouse where the only thing surrounding you is sweaty bodies, sex, damp leather and the smell of melting Aquanet.. Fists pumping, head & hips swaying, screaming along.. The bass is deep and rich, the drums right where they should be.. The production is perfect for this genre of metal.. They definitely deliver what they promise.. They have the look, they have the sound, they have everything.. They’re the complete total package /. ”
