We recently expanded our facility and now have more room to make music, dance, and art.The Smiley Face Room, a community effort to raise funds for our new East building, honors folks past, present and future who have roamed the halls of the Old Town School of Folk Music. We chose the name Smiley Face Room because of the joy we experience making music together. Their influences include Old Crow Medicine Show, Big Bill Broonzy, Memphis Jug Band, and Gus Cannon. This seven-member ensemble brings high energy to raucous, playful renditions of jazz and blues songs from the 1930s and ‘40s, as well as more recent tunes and originals.
