AUG / Press

“I really cannot praise this album enough. ‘All I Can Be’ is sure to cause earthquakes as it rumbles along, but if it’s surprises you’re after then look no further than the closing cover of Toto’s 1982 classic ‘Africa’. It’s clear that these guys can do no wrong and remain versatile within their framework of weighty hard rock. I’m always sceptical when it comes to covers, but Aug are able to adapt to the dynamics of the song. Vocally, “Aug” is within himself until that booming chorus, and I’m then left rather flabbergasted. I wasn’t expecting such a staggeringly brilliant composition. If you don’t purchase this wonderfully fluid and orgasmic recording then it is your loss, believe me.”

“There is a grave shortage of good ol’ hard rock bands these days, but with this impressive album, AUG might just be the call to arms for people seeking this type of music. The album should, hopefully, enable AUG to break out of the New Jersey circle and make a more widespread mark on the world of hard rock and heavy metal.”

“AUG wastes no time at all getting right into the thick of things with ‘Be Careful what you wish for’. An exceptionally powerful guitar riff greets the listener, who, if uninitiated to the powerhouse that is AUG, are as of yet unaware they will be tapping their foot along a mere minute into the song… That is unless they’re alone and have a penchant for air-guitar and/or head banging.”

“Overdriven power chords and fine harmony vocals inform the title track opener of AUG’s new Be Careful What You Wish For... The absolutely infectious, poppin’ “Little Green Fairy” follows, showcasing Rich Tanis’ bass (complete with a solo mid-center) and this New Jersey quartet’s ability to roll through a blisteringly fast rock tune.”
